Biological Treatment Plant - Swine Fridge

This project concerns a Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant using Activated Sludge after the Primary Treatment stage, designed to meet the treatment demands of one of the largest pig slaughterhouses in Latin America. One of the main objectives of the project was to achieve discharge parameters such as COD, BOD, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus. The embedded automation modulates the Aeration System through readings from the DO sensor, while pH correction is performed automatically by reading the pH sensor and acting on the dosing pumps. Furthermore, through Redox Potential readings, it is possible to control the amount of biomass in the system for nitrate removal, as well as perform Nitrification/Denitrification in the Aerated Reactor where the OXYTARGET Flex Aeration System is installed, due to its flexibility in operating its Mixing and Aeration functions independently.

The applied technology successfully met all objectives, and the plant operates with the lowest possible OPEX.
