OXYPOND

In wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), anaerobic, aerobic, and facultative lagoons are widely used for the stabilization of industrial and municipal effluents. With increasingly restrictive environmental requirements, the need to convert lagoons into more efficient aerated systems is growing. The Oxypond aeration system was developed for this application, using high-efficiency HDPE diffusers with a transfer rate exceeding 3.1 kg O₂/kWh. The system maintains adequate levels of dissolved oxygen and promotes controlled mixing without stirring up the bottom sludge. Its engineering favors a longer residence time for the bubbles, increasing efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
