Turnkey Wastewater Treatment Plant - Swine Processing Plant

This project is a complete wastewater treatment plant designed to meet the treatment needs of a pig slaughterhouse. From its development, conceptual/executive design, R&D, mass balance, and plant supply, all were developed by WTECH. One of the main objectives of the project was to achieve discharge parameters with the lowest possible operating expenses (OPEX). The entire process is automatically supervised and controlled, from equalization to the secondary clarifier. The concept and technology applied successfully met all objectives.

Challenges

- Implementation of a complete (turnkey) solution for a Wastewater Treatment Plant in a Pig Slaughterhouse, encompassing physical, chemical, and biological stages.


- Treatment of wastewater with a high organic load, fats, oils, and suspended solids.


- Efficient management of the generated sludge (thickening, dewatering and storage).


- Integration of multiple technologies, such as the W-DAF Flotation System, Lamellar Flotation Decantation Tank, and OXYTARGET Membrane, ensuring operational synergy.


- To ensure efficiency in solid-liquid separation (screening, flotation and sedimentation).


- Odor control and process stability, especially in the biological and sludge stages.
